Come join us in the awesome Deltic Timber KidZone area of Riverfest 2015. The ”KidZone Playtime Promenade” presented by Deltic Timber is located along the banks of the Arkansas River near the Peabody Playground & Water Park in the central area of Julius Brecking Riverfront Park. The kids will have a great time strolling along the Riverwalk Promenade, which will feature lots of hands on activities, exciting games, creative crafts and more.
Visit the Deltic Timber KidZone Craft area located in the Ozark Pavilion and enjoy the “nature” theme for this year. Kids of all ages can make a butterfly finger puppet, a cool paper bag tree, and beautiful paper cup flowers. And when you are outside enjoying nature, be sure and protect yourself from the rays with the sun visor you create! To wrap it up, decorate your own bag to take all your cool creations home.
You can also enjoy fanciful face painting and finger casts from Arkansas Children’s Hospital. And there’s more! Beat a drum with Bongo Willie, dress up like a fireman at the Little Rock Fire Department tent, and enjoy hands on activities provided by the Museum of Discovery. Have fun with the Bean Bag Toss, Bubble Blowing, and Chalk It Up Art. Play in the sand, enjoy hula hoop fun, then cool off and splash around in the spray pad. If that’s not enough, for the adventurous kid (or kid at heart), scale 20 feet into the air on the Rock Climbing Wall and soar to 25 foot heights as you somersault and flip safely attached to bungee cords on the Quad Jump. The Deltic Timber KidZone Area is sure to provide hours of entertainment.
Don’t have 180 days to go around the world? Then come to the International Village and visit six countries in minutes! The theme for this years International Village is "Reading Around the World"! Crafts will feature six different countries specific to children's books that are set in that country. Take a stop in England to create a Harry Potter magic wand, France to create a crown from Babar, Nigeria to craft a wise owl from Why Mosquitoes Buzz in Peoples Ears: A West African Tale, China to create Tiki Tiki Timbo kites, Germany to make Hansel and Gretel gingerbread men, and Saudi Arabia to craft magic carpet bookmarks from Aladdin!
While in the Kids area, safety first! Be sure and stop by the Tag-A-Child Tent. Riverfest supports child safety through this program. At the tent have your child registered and tagged so Riverfest security officers and officials can help reunite lost children with their parents or guardians in record time.
The Jesse White Tumblers are an acrobatic performance team that can be seen throughout the festival park.
The Kenya Safari Acrobats can be seen throughout the festival park jumping through rings, making human pyramids, and human contortion!
