“The two pack a naked pathos into a Plutonium suitcase, detonating it in slow motion as Sturgis Nikides delivers a measured and studied introduction, leading his new rhythm section into a slow and determined momentum upon which Mandy Lemons can lay her sack-o-woe. Sure Memphis has Barbeque, Stax, and The King...but come to Memphis to see this band... ”

Mandy Lemons, winner of the 2015 Emissaries of Memphis Music Peoples Choice Award, and Sturgis Nikides, who recorded and toured with legendary Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, John Cale (of The Velvet Underground), also know as Low Society - are blazing new trails on the stomping grounds of Blues Roots and Americana music. Texas Blues, Memphis Rock 'N Soul and a healthy dose of New York attitude help define the sound and spirit of their music. Their recordings have received critical acclaim world-wide, including numerous Best Of lists. Their albums have placed on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Blues & Top 50 Blues-Rock Album Charts as well as the prestigious Living Blues Magazine Top 25 Radio Chart. Sirius XM B.B. Kings Bluesville has had their music in heavy rotation since the beginning of 2015 starting with their second album 'You Can't Keep A Good Woman Down', and now continuing with their third and latest release, 'Sanctified'.

Just back to Memphis from February's Rebel Rebel Film Festival in Paris and their barnstorming 2017 European Winter Tour, Low Society has appeared at Clarksdale Mississippi's Juke Joint Festival 5 times, Memphis's inaugural Bona Fide Blues Festival, Virginia's Winchester Blues House Festival, the 2012 BluesAlive Festival in the Czech Republic & Poland, Switzerlands prestigious 2015 Lucerne Blues Festival and in 2017 - Blues Club Leutzbeurg's 20th Anniversary Concert in Luxembourg. They appear regularly in Memphis and 2018 will find them playing extensive shows across the US and Europe - including Little Rock Riverfest on Memorial Day weekend, the Western Maryland Blues Festival in June, on the main stage at the Luxembourg Blues 'N Jazz Rally in July and the Blues Aan Zee Festival in the Netherlands in November.

Their third album SANCTIFIED (2017) is a trans-Atlantic production with Belgians Jacky Verstraeten on bass and Bart De Bruecker on drums (http://www.rawblues.be/), as well as Memphis legend Rick Steff back on the keys. The rhythm tracks were recorded at Closed Session Recording Studio in Roeselare, Belgium, and all additional recording and tracks were completed at American Recording Studio in Memphis, TN, with engineer Will Danger. Sanctified was released on May 1, 2017 and has been in the rotation on XM Bluesville ever since. The album has been on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Blues & Blues-Rock Albums chart and has received phenomenal press, worldwide! Catch us on the road - we look forward to playing for you!

“If you ask today how to bring the blues to the future: this is clearly the way. "Sanctified" is one of the albums you must hear in 2017. And Low Society are, for me, one of the most recommendable bands in the arena of blues-rock.”
